Venue update: the Dalston restaurant closed at the end of 2025. Enquire about current South Woodford and catering options directly with Jones & Sons.
Jones & Sons has been a familiar name in East London wedding receptions, but its Dalston restaurant closed at the end of 2025. Couples discovering older wedding stories should now look at the business’s current restaurant and catering options rather than assume the former venue can be booked.
Keep the food-led idea, update the plan
The company continues through its South Woodford restaurant and event catering. For couples who loved the relaxed restaurant-wedding approach, that means the food and hospitality idea may still be relevant even when the original location is not. A separately hired venue with catering can offer a different way to create a generous, sociable celebration.
Making room for photographs
For a restaurant or catered reception, I would keep the meal central and use the time before arrival for a short portrait session. Table conversations, shared dishes and speeches can give the photographs their rhythm. The final plan should be based on the actual room and lighting at your chosen location.
Before you book
Ask Jones & Sons which current services suit your date, guest count and location. Confirm venue hire and catering responsibilities separately if you are using an outside space. Older Dalston photographs are inspiration, not evidence of present-day room availability.
Venue information checked October 2026. Venue details and further information. Confirm arrangements directly with the venue for your date.
