East Quay in Whitstable makes the seaside feel like an essential part of the wedding. Set in a former oyster-fishery building by the harbour, it offers a relaxed alternative to a formal coastal hotel.

The venue’s character comes from its working-coast origins, sea views and proximity to the shingle. The mezzanine ceremony space gives the day a distinct beginning before everyone gathers for the reception. Making room for photographs
I would plan a short beach portrait session around the wind and available light, keeping an indoor alternative ready. Movement can make coastal photographs feel alive; there is no need to wait for perfectly still conditions. A few harbour or shoreline frames can establish the location, while the main story stays with your guests.
