Venue guide · Wedding photography

Burgh House offers an intimate Hampstead wedding with the charm of a historic house rather than a large event venue. The Queen Anne building dates from 1704 and gives a small celebration a strong sense of place.
A small ceremony with real character
The wood-panelled Music Room is the heart of the wedding setting. Its scale encourages attention to the ceremony and to the people around you. Hampstead’s streets and the nearby Heath add possibilities for the day beyond the house, making this an appealing choice for couples who want a personal London wedding with a quieter atmosphere.
Making room for photographs
I would keep the ceremony photography unobtrusive and allow a short pause afterwards for portraits near the house. If you want to include the Heath, plan that separately with a realistic walking or transport allowance. A small guest list also creates the opportunity for relaxed photographs with everyone, without turning the reception into a long sequence of formal groups.
Before you book
Check the room capacity, hire duration and reception arrangements together. Ask about photography access, seasonal garden conditions and any restrictions linked to the building’s public use. Choose a nearby reception with the transfer in mind if you are continuing elsewhere.
