Venue guide · Wedding photography

Belvoir Castle suits a wedding that embraces a grand setting. Its ceremonial rooms, garden spaces and castle character create a strong sense of arrival in the countryside, with several ways to shape the mood of the day.
Formal grandeur with a change of pace
The venue’s wedding offering includes rooms such as the Guardroom and State Dining Room, alongside the Rose Garden and Old Kitchen. The appeal is not simply size: moving between different spaces can make the celebration feel like a sequence of experiences. A formal meal followed by a more intimate-feeling evening setting gives the architecture a practical role.
Making room for photographs
I would choose a few architectural photographs to establish the castle, then concentrate on the people within it. A large room does not require every portrait to be distant and formal. Ask about access to the Elizabeth Saloon if it matters to your plans, and build any garden photographs around the season and available light.
Before you book
Confirm which rooms, gardens and portrait locations are included for your date. Discuss public access, the wet-weather route between spaces and transport at the end of the evening. With a venue this distinctive, a detailed floor plan is more helpful than planning from a selection of photographs alone.
